Christmas festivities 2020

Here are some pictures of the boys and girls enjoying the lead up to Christmas at school. We had a zoom phone call with Santa, he visited on his motorbike and we’ve danced and created art to us to get into the spirit and excitement for Christmas.

All dressed up for Halloween

The boys and girls loved being able to dress up and show their friends their costumes at school! 

Halloween Art

The boys and girls loved making witches in art on Friday. We also read the story ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson about the adventures of a witch and her broomstick flying through the sky.

Junk Art

The boys and girls love being creative and making things from empty boxes and cartons during Aistear. This month the children are exploring shapes and making houses. Here are some pictures with the houses they designed and made. 

We are back to school and now in Senior Infants

All of the boys and girls are settling well back into school life after a long break in 2020. They are so happy to be able to play with their friends and have fun learning at school too. Here are some pictures of the boys and girls playing in their new Senior Infants classroom. 

Active at Home Week

Well done to all of the children for making a special effort to get lots of exercise at home this week. Exercise is important for everyone right now, it’s so important that we all stay happy and healthy during these times. 

School Work at Home

It’s not only Mums and Dads that are working from home in 2020. Junior Infants in Merlin Woods Primary School are busy keeping up to date with their work too! Well done to you all, keep it up!

Easter Art at Home

Well done to all the children and their Mums and Dads who are continuing with their school work at home at this time. We will be sharing some photographs here of the work the boys and girls have been doing. We can see our friends happy in their homes. Lá Glas

Junior Infants dressed in green on Thursday 12th of March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and all things Irish. We made leprechaun art and sang Irish songs together! We had great fun that day and hope to be back at school together soon! 

World Book Day

Junior Infants celebrated World Book Day in March by dressing up as a character from a book they enjoy to read at home. They brought their books to school to show us. We had lots of amazing costumes in school for World Book Day! We had famous footballers, Harry Potter, Elsa and dinosaurs to mention a few of the characters!

Our Christmas Nativity

Well done to the boys and girls on an amazing Christmas Nativity performance! You made your Mum’s and Dad’s so proud watching you on stage! Thank you to all parents for their support in making this performance a success, the children’s costumes were brilliant.
